“I was able to learn the newest innovations in my field, and to shadow professionals and see the differences and similarities in-patient care between the US and Australia.”

— Lauren Sofen, Class of 2007

Get Ready to GoGlobal!

Begin your overseas experience in three easy steps:

  1. Apply for a passport. U.S. citizens can go to the Department of State's website and download an application.

Follow the links to find the closest location to submit your application. In Ann Arbor, apply at the post office on Liberty Street, Stadium Avenue, or Green Road; or at the Washtenaw County courthouse on North Main Street.

Note: The post office on South University does NOT offer this service.

  2. Identify a program. Materials to assist you while you're making this decision are available on the GoGlobal CTools site (How to join a CTools site).

Go to My Workspace > Membership > Joinable Sites

Once you select the Joinable Sites tab, search for GoGlobal.

  3. Find funding. Currently enrolled Kinesiology undergraduates are eligible to apply for competitively awarded supplemental funding from the School of Kinesiology. Deadlines each year are March 15 and November 15. Further details and on-line application available through M-Compass.

“[A]s President, I'd like to find new ways to connect young Americans to young people all around the world, by supporting opportunities to learn new languages, and serve and study, welcoming students from other countries to our shores. . . Simple exchanges can break down walls between us. . ."
— President Barack Obama
