The Multicultural Pharmacy Student Organization and the MLK Health Science Committee invite you to join Abdul El-Sayed, MD, discussing "COVID-19 & the Racial Health Gap" via Zoom.
Dr. Abdul El-Sayed is a well-known public health expert, physician, epidemiologist, and a strong advocate for social and racial justice in America. He was the former Health Commissioner for the City of Detroit and a candidate in the 2018 Michigan gubernatorial election. He attended The University of Michigan Medical School, Oxford University, and Columbia University. Dr. El-Sayed will be dissecting the health gap present in Detroit and other diverse communities in the U.S. that were effected during the novel COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, he will share his insights on racism in the health care setting and how we can help fight it.
