The right helmet for the job
Steven Broglio, U-M Concussion Center director, stresses the importance of a good bike helmet.
In a recent interview with Self magazine, Steven Broglio, director of the University of Michigan Concussion Center, emphasized the critical role of wearing a bike helmet that has undergone impact testing in the event of a crash. Broglio highlighted that individuals who experience crashes without helmets are more prone to sustaining severe injuries.
He notes that having an additional layer of protection in helmets can effectively reduce the severity of potential injuries, so opting for helmets equipped with features like MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) could contribute to a further reduction in impact effects.
