In a recent interview with Self magazine, Steven Broglio, director of the University of Michigan Concussion Center, emphasized the critical role of wearing a bike helmet that has undergone impact testing in the event of a crash. Broglio highlighted that individuals who experience crashes without helmets are more prone to sustaining severe injuries.

​He notes that having an additional layer of protection in helmets can effectively reduce the severity of potential injuries, so opting for helmets equipped with features like MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) could contribute to a further reduction in impact effects.
