Why you should work up to Taylor Swift's singing-while-running workout
Taylor Swift already inspires a legion of fans who dissect her every move. Now she's inspired them to move (and sing) like her, having shared her pre-concert tour training regimen in her Time magazine person of the year interview.
Since then, Swifties have tried singing her 44-song setlist while running (or jogging or walking, depending on the pace of the song, as dictated by Swift) — most fairly unsuccessfully, given that belting out pop ballads while exercising is actually really hard. Clinical associate professor Laura Richardson, who teaches in applied exercise science and movement science, spoke with The Washington Post about why the combination proves so challenging and what she recommends to build up to the megastar's level.
