Q: Out of everything you're working on, what are you most excited about?
A: Right now, I’m most excited about planning the KDIN Kickback, which will take place on Dec. 10. It’s going to be an awesome chance for kinesiology students to relax and hang out before exams hit. Mental health is something I’m really passionate about, so I love the idea of mixing in some mind breaks with the DEI work I do. It’s important to create spaces where students can recharge, and I can’t wait to see how this event brings our school together!
Q: What's the most meaningful or satisfying aspect of your work?
A: The most meaningful part of my work is definitely getting to work with students and making a real difference in their lives. DEI has always been something I have been passionate about. I love being able to create a space where everyone feels seen, heard, and supported. Whether it’s working with the LINKS program or starting an initiative like the KINnected DEI Mentorship Program, I love knowing that I’m contributing to a more inclusive and equitable community.
Q: What's your favorite thing about our school and why?
A: My favorite thing about the School of Kinesiology is the strong sense of community and the diverse opportunities available to both students and staff. It’s a place where students can pursue their passions while being surrounded by supportive peers and faculty who genuinely care about their growth. I love how the school emphasizes both academic and personal development, which aligns with my commitment to DEI and mental health.
Q: Who are the special people in your life?
A: The special person in my life is my boyfriend, Kristian. He’s been such an incredible support, especially when I first moved to Ann Arbor to start grad school. It was definitely scary moving to a new city and diving into a new chapter of life but having him by my side made it so much easier. He always has been there to encourage me when things get tough. I couldn’t have done it without him. And, of course, my kittens, Prince and Maverick — they are my whole world!
Q: What's one fun or surprising thing about you?
A: One surprising thing about me is that I’ve been golfing since I was 7, and I even played on my high school golf team! Golf has always been something I love. It’s a perfect mix of relaxing and competitive. In my adult days, I love golfing with friends and being competitive with it!
