Course Info
This course provides a practical framework and clinical exercise skills including stress testing, electrocardiography (ECG) interpretation, and exercise prescription, to prepare learners for working with individuals experiencing chronic disease. It will provide a thorough exploration of cardiovascular and pulmonary disease etiology and the important role therapeutic exercise provides in secondary prevention programs. Learners will become competent in ECG interpretation, exercise testing protocols and cardiopulmonary exercise testing. Time will be spent formulating the Individualized Treatment Plan used in secondary prevention. This course will also cover performance domain standards and guidelines aligning with national recommendations, to prepare students for the exercise physiology profession.
