Description
This course is a general introduction to a variety of diseases, conditions, and injuries affecting motor performance. A lecture format will be used to cover such topics as muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, stroke, and cerebral palsy. Lectures will be supplemented by original research articles and film presentations. This course focuses not only on impairment but will also touch upon person-centered perspectives related to movement disorders through films, discussion, and readings. Students who plan on pursuing careers in the allied health sciences and/or rehabilitation should find this course of particular interest.

MOVESCI 320 or permission of instructor.
