The School of Kinesiology highly values the international learning experience. The Office of Global Engagement assists Kinesiology students in finding opportunities for international study, research, volunteerism, and internships. Global Engagement also supports our students as they pursue funding, academic, and professional resources, and helps them determine the program that best fits their educational, personal, and professional goals.

For education abroad, the decentralized structure of the University of Michigan allows for many U-M Ann Arbor units, as well as U-M campuses, to offer education abroad programs and advising for students seeking international experiences. These units either have an office dedicated to supporting education abroad activities, or staff members whose role is dedicated to supporting education abroad activities.

University of Michigan Education Abroad Affiliate Partners
University of Michigan Education Abroad Affiliate Partners offer all University of Michigan students, price reductions on programs, access to financial aid and scholarship support, as well as on-site staff for 24/7 support. Students can speak with representatives from our Affiliate Partners on Wednesdays in the atrium of the School of Kinesiology Building.
- CEA CAPA (ceacapa.com), University of Michigan students will receive a $1,000 travel grant for a semester-long study program, and a $600 travel grant for a summer program
- CISabroad (CISAbroad.com), U-M students will receive a $250 discount for a semester-long study program, and a $100 discount for a short-term or any internship program
- Danish Institute for Study Abroad (DIS), (DISAbroad.org), U-M students will receive a $4000 discount for a semester-long study program, and a $500 discount for a three (3) or four (4)-week summer session
- International Education of Students (IES) (iesabroad.org)
- International Studies Abroad (ISA WorldStrides) (studiesabroad.com), U-M students will receive a $500 discount for programs longer than seven (7) weeks, and a $250 discount for programs shorter than seven (7) weeks
- The Education Abroad Network (TEAN by WorldStrides) (teanabroad.org), U-M students will receive a $500 discount for programs longer than seven (7) weeks, and a $250 discount for programs shorter than seven (7) weeks

Funding Your Program
GoGlobal Travel Awards. Funding for these awards comes from private donors to the School of Kinesiology and from the Dean of Kinesiology. The total funding available fluctuates annually. The amount individual students receive varies based on the number of qualified applicants, level of need, and funds available that year. Most awards are between $500-$2,500.
Award recipients will be expected to write thank-you notes to donors and assist the Office of Global Engagement in Kinesiology with study abroad promotional activities in the following academic year.
