Physical Activity & Health Laboratory
Promoting physical activity across the lifespan for health and well-being
About
The Physical Activity & Health Laboratory (PAHL) focuses on designing, implementing, and evaluating technology-enhanced physical activity interventions to promote physical activity behaviors, cognition, physical fitness, mental health, and psychological well-being in school-aged children, young adults, and older adults. Our research studies examine:
- effects of school-based physical activity interventions on improving students’ motor skill competency, physical fitness, physical activity behaviors, and mental well-being;
- impacts of different types of physical activities on improving physical activity behaviors, cardiometabolic health, physical fitness, mental health and psychological well-being in college students and mid-aged adults; and
- effectiveness of technology-enhanced physical activity interventions on promoting cognitive functions, functional fitness, and psychological well-being in older adults.
