The Kinesiology Career Development Center is available to support graduate and undergraduate students through all aspects of career and professional development.
Online resources:
- Handshake: The Kinesiology Career Development Center, in partnership with the University Career Center (UCC), utilizes Handshake as our hub for jobs, internships, events and fairs, and graduate and professional schools. Learn more on our Handshake page.
- Kinesiology Career Tools (myumi.ch/yKORn) is an expansive online collection of 200+ career resources specific to the needs of Kinesiology disciplines, interests, and goals.
You may have noticed that the look of our resources has changed. They have been updated to make our resources easier to navigate and utilize for everyone and made more accessible for students who use adaptive technologies. If you are a current student, you must be logged into your umich email account in order to view the resources. If you are a recently admitted Kinesiology student, you will have access at the beginning of the semester that you begin as a Kinesiology student.
Other Kinesiology Career Development Center Resources:

Please be sure to include your availability and the topic(s) you would like to discuss. For brief, drop-in appointments (15 minutes or less), you can find Kelli on Zoom during drop-in hours.
- Self-Assessments: Want to learn more about your strengths, personality, and/or interests? Increasing your self-awareness in these areas will help you make more informed career decisions. - Kinesiology Career Fairs: The School of Kinesiology hosts two annual fairs, the Kinesiology Career Fair and the IONM Career Fair. Attend these events to connect with recruiters from a variety of organizations. For more information about the Kinesiology Career Fair, please visit kines.umich.edu/careerfair. Information about the IONM Career Fair can be found at kines.umich.edu/ionm-career-fair.
- Career Development Programs: The Career Development Center hosts employers and alumni and facilitates career-specific workshops. Carve out time in your schedule to attend these relevant programs. As we transition back to an in-person campus experience we want to ensure that work with our students and employer partners are seamless, resulting in employers successfully connecting to students. To that end, our recruiting activity will be remote for Fall semester. We will continue to evaluate our campus landscape and make you aware of any changes, should they occur.
- Kinesiology Health Science Mentorship Program: The Kinesiology Health Sciences Mentorship Program (KHSM) matches U-M Kinesiology alumni with students interested in health science careers. Alumni mentors can provide valuable insight into potential careers paths and give students meaningful advice. Additional information can be found at kines.umich.edu/khsm
We want to ensure full and equitable participation for our resources. If an accommodation would promote your full participation, include your accommodation requirements in your email to your career advisor.
The mission of the Kinesiology Career Development Center is to increase U-M Kinesiology students’ career self-efficacy through reflective self-assessment, informed career exploration, deliberate decision-making, and strategic action.
The Kinesiology Career Development Center believes in a world that is inclusive in approach and where equal opportunities and equitable outcomes exist for all.
