STUDENT GROUPS
A Kinesiology Student Group is an organization that fits within the MSA (Michigan Student Assembly) definition of a student organization, which is defined as a group that it is based on, centered around, led, governed, and directed by students. Student groups work towards a mission established by the group, such as professional development or community betterment. Kinesiology Student Groups:

SERVICE GROUPS
A Kinesiology Service Group is an organization that, although possibly conceived by students, is created by a Kinesiology faculty or staff member, and works towards a mission established by Kinesiology administration, such as recruitment or curriculum development. Kinesiology Service Groups:
- Kinesiology Peer Advisors
Peer Advisors are current Kinesiology students, in all years and majors, who assist the Office of Undergraduate Student Affairs (OUSA) with Summer and Fall Orientation for incoming first-year and transfer students. Peer Advisors also sometimes work with additional events throughout the school year. This is a paid position (including paid training, which takes place primarily in early May). - Kinesiology Student Ambassadors

Sport Management Peer Facilitators assist new students with their transition to U-M and to cultivate a sense of connectedness to Sport Management, School of Kinesiology, and U-M. The facilitators engage in facilitating classroom discussions and outside-of-class workshops. Facilitation is a process in which a trained and experienced student plans, develops, and conducts structured and effective peer interactions that produce a clear result that is commonly understood and supported by all participants. SM Peer Facilitators are given the option to select academic credit or financial compensation for this experience. This position is approximately 5-10 hours per week. Applications open at the end of each semester.
